Renovation project
Renovation of the old port
In 2008, the town of Evian will begin renovation work on the old port of Les Mouettes.
Objectives: put the finishing touches to the port's redevelopment and better protect the environment.
The old part of the Les Mouettes port is finally to be renovated. Built in the 1960s, this eastern section of the port will undergo important modifications this coming winter. The redevelopment plan targets both the port and the surrounding area. The concrete landings will be replaced by floating piers equipped with water and electricity terminals. This will provide the port with 50 additional docking spaces for boats of up to
Modernization will go hand-in-hand with environmental protection. To mitigate the port's negative impact on the lake's waters, a "green space" will be set up in the port's maintenance and careening zone. Two containers will be installed, allowing for the sorting and recuperation of both batteries and waste oils.
Work will also be done on the area immediately surrounding the port, with the extension of the lakeside promenade. However, the free car park (58 spaces) will be maintained, though improved and delimited by landscaping and adequate outdoor lighting.
